Headteacher Transition

During the Summer Term our new, in-coming Headteacher, Mrs Helen Ross will be visiting the school in preparation for the handover in September.  We are delighted that this will allow time for Mrs Ross to meet with staff and children and ensure a smooth transition from September.

Over the past two terms, Staff and Governors have been working extremely hard alongside Miss Wilson on the vision and the academic development plan for our school.   I would like to think you and your children will have noticed some of the changes that have been introduced over recent weeks, such as Hermitage Heroes and the Home-School Diary in Year 1.  In the Summer Term, a new Charter for Behaviour will be introduced.  This is based on work led by the School Council and is linked to the Spiritual, moral, social and cultural aspect of the curriculum.  However, much more goes on behind the scenes improving how the curriculum is delivered and how we track the progress our pupils are making.  We remain resolute in our drive to continue to raise outcomes for all our pupils and the standards we set for teaching and learning, whilst retaining the strong ethos that makes Hermitage what it is.  This was a key part of the selection process for our new Headteacher - making sure we appointed someone that shared the same vision and ethos and had the right mix of skills and experiences to continue to take our school forward.
