Governor blog from Tim Griggs - KS2 Spring Concert

Last night I had the pleasure of attending the KS2 Spring Concert to see the finest young singers and musicians Hermitage has to offer, and they didn't disappoint. In what is becoming a constant theme, I was again struck by the confidence of our children to put themselves up in front of an audience and show very few nerves in belting out music and song, in groups, duets and as solos. When I was that age you could not have paid me to do anything remotely as brave as that, but with Ms Whittingham at the helm these children delivered their performances fearlessly, and more than a few moist eyes were observed in the hall. It's tough to pick out highlights as all performed brilliantly, but the bravery of the solo singers really struck a chord with me - mainly because I would wake up in a cold sweat at the thought of having to do that, so the young man who took the stage to sing his solo has my eternal respect! A huge congratulations must go to Miss Whittingham and all the music teachers for delivering such a performance. Next stop, the Royal Albert Hall...
