Keeping in touch

Date: 19th Mar 2020 @ 10:16am

Great news, Year 6. We won the TTRockstars Battle!! Thank you, Year 5 for keeping us on our toes!

Keep in touch,

 Miss Whittingham x

Well, here is the first blog. Do let me know what you are up to and what you have been doing. Eg what your parents thought of the lovely lunch you made for them!

Have a read through the ,managing our worries' plan that Olly J did (it's in the gallery in the home learning page) and maybe add some of your own ideas.

Love, Miss W x

Jess, thank you for your message - we are doing okay, thanks. Why don't you all try to get out into the garden and build a den or nest for a creature - real or imaginary! Draw a picture or take a photo of it to share with us all when we are back together.
See you all soon - Love, Miss W x

Hi Miss Whittingham. We have been helping mum to come up with things we’d like to learn about each week. We’ve chosen space this week, so we’ve been on YouTube and looked at books and I showed Toby the project I did in Year 5. I chose to do a fact sheet about Uranus, Toby did Saturn. We painted the planets and found facts. I also did some maths and played outside. Oh we all did the Joe Wicks PE too even mum and dad, I can’t believe nearly a million homes tuned in! X😊👋🏼

Hi Miss W, today James, my mum and I did the Joe Wicks body coach video on YouTube. It is very tiring but we all managed it. We went for a really long dog walk and we were out pretty much all afternoon. When we got home I finished my book and I LOVED IT!! Tomorrow I’ll probably do a review on it in my red book. I hope everyone is well and is having fun

Georgia - the cakes sound delicious. I think we have been very lucky with the weather. We did yesterday’s Joe Wicks’ Workout this morning. It was fun.
Ted - what a very good idea to coordinate your days. Very organised.

Georgia wrote:

We were definitely very lucky with the weather, we have been going on very long dog walks with Bella. It’s very nice because since we can’t really go anywhere we can just sit and play in the garden instead. I have been doing 2 pages in my SATs revision book every day and I have started to keep a dear in my red book.
I hope everyone is having fun

Gemma made Microwave Bread. She had a LOT of fun waving a hand blender with a whisk attached, but didn't like the bread (after two or three slices). Her Mum said the recipe was 'a bit eggy, but nice when toasted'. (Especially with butter and cheese).
Here's the recipe if anybody would like to try, courtesy of Kent Live News.
https://www.kentlive.news/whats-on/food-drink/easy-microwave-bread-recipe-only-3972580

Question: Whatever Happened To Sheena Easton?

Microwave bread recipe
Ingredients (serves 1)
•40g self raising flour
•1 egg white
•25g margarine
•Squeeze of lemon juice
•1/3 tsp sugar
•1/3 tsp baking powder
Method
•Get a large mug and whisk the egg until foamy
•Add baking powder and lemon juice then mix
•Add all of the other ingredients to the mug and mix until smooth and sticky
•Microwave for 90 seconds
•Slice and toast

Miss W wrote:

Mr M - I am unsure what has happened to Sheena Easton - do you know?
Thanks for the recipe - I might try it out at some point.
Miss W

Mr M wrote:

Sheena Easton – not a bean, I'm afraid. we were posting the recipe and her Nine to Five (not the Dolly Parton one) came on. All right, I Googled. It says she played aging prima donna Dorothy Brock in a Drury Lane production of 42nd Street for a year, until March 2017, when Lulu took over – both stars proving that age does not, in fact, mean that one is Past It ;-)

Miss W wrote:

Mr M, Thanks for the update on Sheena. Good to know that I have a number of years left before I will be 'past it'!
I am looking forward to the photo of your new hair cut!

Hi Miss Whittingham, I tried the Joe Wicks PE yesterday it was really fun even my mum did it but it was also very tiring! My mum and I made a timetable so I do my lessons at the same time as I would in school, it is quite cool! My mum has also bought me a book to help with spelling, and she has made me an account on Duolingo to help me get better at Spanish and to learn french! Yesterday we all did a 'zoom meeting' (which is like facetime)with our family who live in Tenerife and Alicante! Rocco and I have made up a game on the trampoline it is really fun, Rocco is also playing TTrockstars and is a rock legend at exactly 1:00 seconds so he is determined to be a rock hero today!
Hope everything is okay,
Lots of Love Lola 😊xxx
