Robinwood Day 1

Date: 15th Mar 2017 @ 7:16pm

Beautiful sunshine greeted us as we arrived at Robinwood earlier today. The children were brilliant on the coach and were so excited, they didn't even moan about having to make their beds on arrival at the centre! We had a short welcome meeting and then it was off to a delicious lunch.

Afterwards, it was a full afternoon of activities! One group got dressed up in wellies and outdoor gear, including hard hats, for an adventurous walk through beautiful woods and countryside on an 'alien' fact-finding mission! It was great fun looking for clues along the way! Stomping across streams and some very muddy tracks, we were reminded of getting wet through at Burwardsley last year! At least the sun was shining this time!

All the groups had a go on the high trapeze! Everyone had a go and bravely climbed up a high 'rock face' to reach the platform some twenty feet up. From there, they had to jump and reach out for a trapeze, dangling from ropes which their team-mates were carefully guiding down below! It looked such fun, Mrs Hewitt decided to have a go!...and got VERY scared!! The children thought it was hilarious!!!!  She will never live the moment down!

Two groups also braved the piranha pool! It was a weeeny bit scary but we survived! Whew! We won't give too much away as we are planning a special Robinwood assembly when we get back.

Meanwhile, here are some photos of our first day...
