Personal, Socail and Health Education
To provide all children with the knowlege, understanding, attitudes, values and skills they need in order to reach their potential as individuals within a community.
To encourage all children to recognise their own worth, work well with others and become increasingly responsible for their own learning.
To enable chidlen to tackle spirital, moral and cultural issues that are part of growing up.
For children to reflect on their experiences and understand how they are devloping personally and socially.
For children to understand and repsect our common humanity; diversity and differences so that they can go on to form effective, fulfilling relationships that are an essential part of life and learning.
The school has adopted the JIGSAW scheme of work which is implemented across the whole school. It is supplemented by the KiVa progamme.
Statement of Intent
Jigsaw PSHE will support the development of the skiils, attitudes, valuesand behaviour which enable pupils to:
- Have a sense of purpose
- Value self and others
- Form relationships
- Makeand act on informed decisions
- Communicate effectively
- Work with others
- Respond to challenge
- Be an active partner in their own learning
- Be active citizens within the local community
- Explore issues related to living in a democratic society
- Become healthy and fulfilled individuals

PSHE throughout the school
We have a strong School Council with 2 members elected in each class
We have Head Students and Pastoral Leads in Y6
We have a Reception/Year 6 buddy system
We have play leaders to organise games in the playground
We have 'Bridge the Gap' meetings in school
We use social stories to support children
